Cut and paste

Normally I don´t just cut out snippets from a magazine and glue it together, I rather combine it with a lot of painting. But I saw so many great collages during the last weeks, so I thought I might give it a try. Here are the first two results. A little altered book (a Tupperware receipe book) where I am going to try out, how I get along. I am not sure yet, if this is my cup of tea, because I tend to get too graphical and stringent, I do not know, if this is good.

  1. I like what you’ve done here! Collage has never been a strong point for me. I find I spend too much time choosing and placing rather than just letting go. You should persevere! You always have a good eye for composition. 🙂

    • Thank you so much Alison! I agree with you, but while doing this, I felt I look differently at colours, also structures, but mostly colours. So this would be a great medium to learn more about the „worth“ and reaction of colours. And – I have a huge stack of old magazines……

  2. These are great. It’s fun to find new ways to explore – it helps keep everything fresh.

  3. I have been trying to push myself with collage. I am going to concentrate on that for ICAD this year. I love your colours and strong composition.

Also, yes I did do a course (or two) with Mindy Lacefield (Tim’s Sally). 🙂

Thank you very much for visiting. You make my day, if you leave a comment!
